The centre delivering the programmes has been licensed by NCFE on the basis of its own quality systems. On completion of this course students can apply for membership to the Society for Holistic Therapists and Coaches (SHTC), a professional body who are dedicated to recognised standards of qualification and practice - students will also be able to use the initials 'SHTC' after their names.

The Society for Holistic Therapists and Coaches (SHTC) exists to provide the General Public and Health Professionals with a body of regulated professionals, all qualified to accredited levels, and who all obey the appropriate NOS National Occupational Standards.

All of our members have appropriate professional qualifications that are either directly accredited in their own right (e.g. NVQs and Degrees), or are from QCA / SQA approved Awarding bodies.

The SHTC is run independently from any College or Awarding Body, and therefore will accept all appropriately qualified therapists equally and fairly. We exist to maintain standards, and not engage in industry politics.

The Approved Courseware

Stonebridge accepted as a qualified supplier for existing materials by the University for Industry (UfI).

Ufi today announced a preliminary list of over 100 titles which it is considering for the portfolio of learning materials it is planning for autumn 2000. It has also written to an initial list of over 150 qualified suppliers inviting them to tender for these titles.

The qualified suppliers include organisations such as IBM, BBC, and Microsoft as well as colleges, universities and professional institutes. They are all producers of high-quality open and distance learning materials, ranging from web, digital and multimedia products through to video, audio and traditional print.

1. In order to gain the Certified Professional status, Stonebridge graduates with a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience and having achieved a diploma through Stonebridge, can apply to be awarded the professional credential as “World Certified Professional”. Once graduates have attained this professional level they may use the post nominal letters “WCP”. They can also be considered for a minimum level of an associate membership with the World Certification Institute and may also use the post nominal membership as “AWCI”.

2. Stonebridge graduates without the pre-requisite diploma but with a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience can apply to be awarded the professional credential as “World Accredited Practitioner” and may use the post nominal letters “WAP”.
