Stonebridge college launches Facebook ‘Superfans’

A leading distance learning college which offers over 600 accredited courses worldwide has launched a new Facebook campaign, as part of an ongoing social media strategy.

Stonebridge Associated Colleges, which has a head office in North Cornwall, launched a ‘Superfan’ Facebook campaign this week.

The application enables fans of Stonebridge to sign up to become a ‘Superfan’. Points will be awarded to fans that partake in a variety of online activities, including interacting on Facebook, recommending friends, sharing posts and reviewing online Stonebridge courses.

The top 5 ‘Superfans’ with the most points can choose from a variety of prizes which vary in price depending on how many points have been achieved. Prizes range from luxury retail vouchers to a state-of-the-art surround sound system worth £300. Top 20 fans will receive an exclusive Stonebridge Superfan t-shirt.

“We are very excited about ‘Superfan’ at Stonebridge. The campaign has only just launched and we have already seen over 100 sign up to the application,” commented Managing Director of Stonebridge Associated Colleges, Wayne Janse van Rensburg.

“We want to thank all of our loyal fans by rewarding them with prizes that they deserve,” added Wayne.

The Superfan campaign builds on Stonebridge’s already active social media presence which is maintained and managed by Devon-based Clockwork Marketing. The strategy has seen Facebook likes increase from 333 to 2,913 in just two months. Twitter followers have also dramatically increased to 956.

Ian Kelly, Digital Marketing Executive says: “Facebook is central to social media strategy and the activity that we implemented to date has proved very successful for Stonebridge.

“Facebook is about increasing brand awareness and growing the customer database. Stonebridge Superfan is about rewarding Stonebridge customers for their loyalty”, added Ian.

The Facebook campaign will run for a year and the top 20 Facebook ‘Superfans’ will be announced every three months.

The superfan competition has definitely served to keep me more motivated on the course. I've submitted three assignments in the last month alone as it is always on my mind! Need to think about enrolling on something else now!
