There is no greater satisfaction than to care for others, and our Foot Health Care Course gives you the opportunity to do just that in your own practice. The human foot is one of the most complex and neglected of body parts. Every step we take places two and a half times our body weight on the 26 bones that make up each foot, and it has been estimated that we walk 3 times around the planet in a lifetime. However, the foot is highly sensitive and like any machine part suffers wear or damage when injured or stressed beyond its capability.

Here's where you come in. Though there may be little wrong with their feet, circumstances may prevent people looking after them. Arthritis, painful hip joints or stiff knees may put their feet out of reach or prevent use of scissors or nippers. However, others do have problems with their feet, from corns, calluses, verrucas, flat-foot and bunions to nail conditions and structural defects, many of which can be treated without surgery or medical intervention. Some just enjoy being pampered or are concerned to maintain their bodies in optimum condition. All of these people need the help of a Foot Health Practitioner, a professional trained to deliver care and advice either in a private surgery or in the home.

Stonebridge's Foot Health Care not only gives you a complete grounding in foot anatomy, care and diagnosis but provides the information and support you need to establish a successful practice. Completion of the course gains you the SAC Dip. (Foot Health Care), the qualification that says that you are trained to a good working standard.

This course is made up of twelve lessons of theory training, which you complete from the comfort of your own home, and one week’s practical training, which is completed at our state-of-the-art Foot Health Training Centre. For more information on the practical training, please visit our dedicated Foot Health website at www.foothealthschool.com

Job Interview Skills

Getting the job you want is not about following rules or giving the 'right' interview answer. It is about presenting yourself in the most authentic way that takes care of you and the interviewers at the same time. So many people throw their chances away: they do not take enough care and interview preparation time so that the whole process is enjoyable, stimulating and informative for both parties. This section aims to show you how.

The Effective Learner Course

This section will consider the importance of study skills and how we can identify and enhance our current skill set. Student Reviews for Foot Health Practitioner Course

I want to do something different when I take semi retirement in 3 years time, but, being a Nurse, still want the caring aspect to play a part in whatever I chose. I came across the course on line, and felt that it could well meet my needs.

It sure has! The distance-learning course was ideal as I could fit it around my full time work and complete it at my own pace. Having a Nurse background was a help but every module was explained so well that I do not think anyone would have a problem gaining the knowledge required. In fact I know so! During the practical week I met people from all walks of life, ranging from an engineer to a bank clerk. Everyone passed with flying colours! I'm not at all surprised as everything was so well planned and out tutor was knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. The college building itself looked new, with very modern facilities and, of course, Bude just outside the door.

My business is now growing at the rate I want it to. Because I already have a full time job I need to keep tight control on the number of clients I have. Since the start of the business, ten weeks ago, I have built up 28 clients on my books. Eventually I shall build to about 80 which will give me 2-3 days work per week.

I have no hesitation in recommending the course to anyone.

I have recommended my friend who is now doing the Foot Health Practitioners course with you at the moment, I left Spain last year and started working in the Cardonald Therapy Centre in Glasgow and now have about 300 clients in my books, that is including 2 nursing homes as well as domicile clients. I enjoyed the course but looking back I would have liked to have worked on more clients whilst on the course, but I have taken everything on board that Bernard taught and have used it to build a very sucessful business here in Glasgow. The reason why Stephanie is doing the course is that I am now returning to Spain to work part-time and leaving the business here for Stephanie who will be very popular with my clients.

Hi All,

Just to let you know I am currently studying the Foot Health Practitioner Diploma with Stonebridge Associated Colleges and it’s great. I have given the poor staff there some real hassles with my payments and missing work etc. they are always more than happy to help me however they can. I can’t wait to go down to the college in Bude (as unlike other distance education colleges they actually do exist) and get to see the facilities and meet the tutors).

I am starting a campaign on the student forums to get all the thousands of students studying with them to post on these review sites as I want anyone who is in doubt, to be sure that Stonebridge Colleges are the best!

I found the course fantastic, it was taught at a steady pace, but we learnt a lot in that amount of time. It was very intense but Bernard is a very good teacher and made it understandable and interesting. You could be a complete beginner on this course yes.  I got all what I wanted from the course and cant wait to start up my business as a fhp.

I found the classroom very ultra modern, it had all the facilities we needed to train and it was very clean and new looking.

We were all treated as individuals, it was perfect. The other students were very nice and we all got on well, we all stayed in the student accommodation so we went home together every day and had dinner and evening chats together. The course was a joy and yes I did come out buzzing everyday.

The course overall was excellent, I’m so glad I picked Stonebridge to do my training. You have a fantastic teacher who made the training relaxed and fun even though it was very intense and tiring.

I found the practical side of the Foot Health Practitioner course very intensive, I did the course as a beginner and I got exactly what I wanted out of this course, fabulous tutor! The classroom facilities were very modern. I looked forward to going to class every day, everyone was lovely and I made some great friends. Overall in my opinion everything was to a very high standard – including the student accommodation.

I really enjoyed the theory element of the course, it was clear, precise and very well laid out. A complete begginer would understand the clear language, I gained exactly what I needed to succeed. The classrom/clinic was fantastic, every bit like a clinic. It was very personal and pracitcal with great learning facilities and resources, all up to date. Bernard Pink was great and an excellent tutor.

I loved every minute of my course. The other students were great, supportive and fun. Spent evenings learning and sharing our thoughts for the day. The student accomadation facilities we fantastic, clean and well furnished. Take the family there for a holiday! It is a great place to study. Excellent, welll done Stonebridge and staff, especially Bernard Pink.

I thought that the course was excellent. The pace was right but challenging. I felt that the theory also made a lot of sense when undertaking the practical. I now feel inspired and am starting to get everything ready for looking after people’s feet.

The classroom and facilities were absolutely first class.  I loved the whole experience. The other girls on the course were very friendly and Bernard was a fantastic teacher. I only wish that I had completed this course years ago. It was a really good experience and I cannot wait to start my own practice.

The Foot Health course was of great relevance. It was more intense than I had anticipated it to be and I did find it fairly hard myself. I think it was helpful to have almost completed your theory work before attending the practical course as it did give you a good insight to all the conditions covered on the practical week. The Foot Health course was very progressive giving you the opportunity to progress.

I think the classroom was modern, light and comfortable with good quality equipment. It was exceptionally clean. I looked forward to going to class, but did have one bad day myself, but the tutor and my classmates were very supportive and I managed to get through it with their help! You had good individual tuition being in a small group, which was great for me. We all met up afterwards and hope to continue that in the future.

I have enjoyed the whole course and would recommend Stonebridge to others. My daughter is just starting your diet and nutrition course!

The course was challenging, but so rewarding. It allowed you to really understand the whole concept of Foot Health Care. The classroom and tutor was brilliant – bright, clear and modern. The practical area was very professional.

Our class was a great mix of people ranging from 21 – 53 and yet everyone gelled. We were treated as adults learning a profession. I loved every second and everything learnt during the theory, everything just started clicking into place. We all stayed in touch.

This has been a fantastic experience from the 1st course book to earning a diploma. I’s do it again! The feeling of self achievement was unbelievable and I’ve made 7 new friends with the same goal – to be a good Foot Health Practitioner – Thank you!

I was a complete beginner starting this Foot Health Practitioner course but it was well structured. I found it relatively easy to understand. The classroom was a great modern building. Excellent tutor. Fab!

Total of 7 students in our class who all got on extremely well in class and at the student house we shared. All given individual attention from Bernard and more if needed – never too much trouble. 11 days pass so quickly. We have a fantastic time.

At 43 I was apprehensive at going back to education but once I started my worries were quickly put aside. Accommodation was provided for the practice training and we all “de-briefed” in the evening. We all helped each other – such a brilliant group!

With many thanks to Bernard.
