Our flexible distance learning courses have been specifically designed to give you, the student the convenience of studying from the comfort of your own home, at a time that suits you. You can either receive your course materials through the conventional postal system, or you can opt to study online through Elearnuk. Our system of home study allows students with time or lifestyle constraints to improve their education without having to attend classes at a physical location. We are focused upon allowing our students to study when and where they like by removing fixed timings and durations. Qualifications
Stonebridge Associated Colleges' Nationally Accredited open learning courses lead to Internationally recognised awards. Our distance learning courses are recognised by a wide variety of groups, including employers, professional associations, governing bodies, as well as National and International licensing authorities across the World. On successful completion of your home study course, you will receive an attractively presented Diploma or Certificate issued by Stonebridge Associated Colleges, this will also allow you to use the letters SAC. Dip. or SAC. Cert. after your name. If you also complete a course accredited by one of our awarding bodies, you may receive another certificate from them, or be eligible for professional membership.

Methods of study
In order to offer our students the most convenient and flexible distance learning courses, Stonebridge Associated Colleges offers you the option to study for your qualification either via the paper-based or the study online methods:
Conventional paper-based study
With paper-based study you will be posted your first two lessons, with one question paper. Once you have completed the question paper for the first lesson you can e-mail, fax or post your answers back to the College. Once your personal tutor has received and marked your answers, we post you out the next lesson and question paper with your feedback from your previous question paper. This process continues like this until you have completed your course.
Online study through Elearnuk
When you choose to study through Elearnuk you can quickly access your course material online and submit all of your question papers to your online tutor, using your unique student account. You have access to all of your course material from the start, and your tutor sends you an e-mail containing your results and feedback. With Elearnuk you simply enrol, sign on, and conduct all class activities, from any location in the World, with only a standard Web Browser and without complicated plug-in software. Many students find this to be a far faster and more convenient way of study. Plus you always have the option to print your course material off if you feel more comfortable studying from paper! Remember, you study the same course material, and have access to the same level of tutor support as the paper-based students.

Assessment procedures
Continual assessment is the primary method used, whereby students are required to submit a question paper to their personal tutor after each lesson. This assessment method ensures that the personal tutor can consistently monitor the student's progress and provide them with assistance throughout the duration of the course. It is intended that the assessment process for all of our courses is one which enables our students to demonstrate their understanding of the learning material and the practical application of concepts to the world of work.
All year enrolment
There are no terms, semesters, or specified intake dates for our uniquely flexible distance education courses. You are welcome to enrol on any one of our courses all year round. This allows our students the freedom to plan their studies to fit in with their lifestyle or work commitments.
Practical training
Optional practical training is available for many of our courses. These practical training days are held at various locations throughout the Untied Kingdom. The goal of our practical training is to provide students with on-the-job practical experience. Practical training in this context provides the opportunity for our students to apply the theory-based knowledge they have experienced during their course to "real-life" working situations and environments. Our high standard of practical training offers students the necessary hands on experience to obtain additional qualifications.
