{"id":29512,"date":"2022-07-12T14:43:25","date_gmt":"2022-07-12T13:43:25","guid":{"rendered":"\/blog\/?p=29512"},"modified":"2022-07-12T14:43:26","modified_gmt":"2022-07-12T13:43:26","slug":"nhs-to-spend-millions-on-boosting-personalised-midwifery-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stonebridge.uk.com\/blog\/news\/nhs-to-spend-millions-on-boosting-personalised-midwifery-care\/","title":{"rendered":"NHS to Spend Millions on Boosting Personalised Midwifery Care"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The NHS is driving a new initiative to become \u201cthe safest place in the world to give birth\u201d by funnelling \u00a3127 million into its midwifery services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NHS midwifery operations throughout the UK are set to receive more staff and improved systems that will enable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stonebridge.uk.com\/blog\/access-to-higher-education-diplomas\/midwifery\/everything-you-need-to-know-role-midwife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Midwives<\/strong><\/a> to provide a more tailored service to the mothers and babies in their care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only is the investment set to increase staffing numbers, but a large driving force is also improving the culture within maternity units so that more would-be Midwives are drawn into this vital role. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funds are in addition to those pledged last year and are set to be distributed to NHS midwifery and neonatal units over a three-year period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NHS England detailed this as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>\u00a350 million&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Over \u00a350m invested in increasing staffing numbers in Trusts across England<\/li><li><strong>\u00a334 million<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 At least \u00a334m put into the culture and leadership development programmes of local maternity systems<\/li><li><strong>\u00a345 million<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Put towards raising the number of neonatal cots in hospitals across England<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Jaqueline Dunkley-Bent OBE, NHS England\u2019s Chief Midwifery Officer, said: \u201cMidwives have a rewarding, important and privileged role, and this new funding will be vital in providing them with a continuous improvement process that that supports them personally and professionally, to enhance the quality of care for women and babies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want the NHS to be the safest place in the world to give birth and this funding will help us to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In last year\u2019s funding announcement, a \u00a395 million support package was declared for NHS maternity services across England.
