Requirements for Entry

This course is angled towards people aiming to continue with their studies so they can finally become a recognised and fully proficient Mortgage Adviser.


UK Mortgage Advisors need to hold all CeMAP certifications (Modules 1, 2 and 3). For this reason, you will need to have completed CeMAP Module 1 to enrol on this course.


*Please note the exams aren’t included in the cost of this course. Both exams come at an additional fee of £190 per module, therefore, the total cost for both exams required to pass this course is £380. It is also worth noting the cost of a re-sit exam is set at £160 per exam.


You can take your exams at any time throughout the year, once you complete the related course materials.

CeMAP Module 3 – Unit 7
  • Assessment of mortgage advice knowledge. Tests your understanding of the technical details to assess your ability to apply the knowledge covered
  • In these units, you will: 
  • Understand mortgage law, practice, policy and markets and the whole home buying process. Also learn about mortgage products and rates, valuations and surveys and any up-to-date legislation
  • Have a firm understanding of interest rates and mortgage repayment options and be confident in relaying these to the homebuyer
  • Apply knowledge to realistic scenarios, to help you prepare yourself for employment
  • Build your confidence and learn how to apply your knowledge to individual cases to provide the best solutions possible 

 

*Please note your CeMAP Modules 2 and 3 exams are not included in this course. 
 
You can now sit your exam from home, which brings a whole new level of convenience to the process of becoming certified. During the online exam, you will need to maintain exam conditions. As such, your actions will be monitored by an invigilator throughout. All CeMAP modules are eligible for remote invigilation.
 
During the exam, you will cover the course materials you learned within Modules 2 and 3.
 
CeMAP Module 2 Exam:  
This exam covers what you learnt in Module 2, with a focus on the mortgage application process, including: 
  • Unit 3 – Mortgage Law, Policy, Practice and Markets
  • Unit 4 – Mortgage Applications
  • Unit 5 – Mortgage Payment Methods & Products
  • Unit 6 – Mortgage Arrears and Post Completion Issues
 
CeMAP Module 3 Exam:
This exam covers what you learnt in Module 3, with a focus on how to apply all the knowledge gained into real-world scenarios, including: 
  • Unit 7 – Assessment of Mortgage Advice and Knowledge 
 
The exam for Module 2 will be a 2 hour objective exam, comprising of 100 multiple-choice questions.
The exam for Module 3 will also be a 2 hour objective exam, but it will comprise of 6 case studies, each with 10 linked multiple-choice questions.
 
*Please note, you will need to register with the London Institute of Banking and Finance to take your exam. It must be reiterated that the exam and the registration fee are not included in the cost of this course.
