Education surrounding the appropriate use of computers is essential in our technology centric world. This course will help you to introduce children to computers from a young age, helping them to develop the skills and confidence to use computers correctly and safely.
Starting at 1 year of age, and progressing through to 8, the course will show you how to gradually introduce the different aspects of computers and computing to children.
You will learn how to approach each area of computing and safely using electronic equipment from setting the rules to explaining what each part of the computer does in a way the child will understand.
As you progress through the course each unit will tackle a different age and – therefore – a different level of understanding. Earlier modules will introduce children to typing, printers and different types of applications.
For older children you will address the anxiety that come with computer use – specifically social media and other websites. You will also help them to transition from using a computer as a toy or source of entertainment, to a tool for work.
This course is suitable for parents wanting to tackle the issue of technology with their children and teachers in an early years or primary setting.
Getting Started
This course will help you get to grips with the topic of technology with children from 1-8 years old. It will help you to introduce them to the hardware – and it’s proper and safe use, and how to use the device itself.
