About your Course

Functional Skills English is a nationally recognised alternative to GCSE English. Whereas the GCSE course focuses heavily on theory and covers a broad range of topics, Functional Skills English is focused on the practical elements.

This will help you to use English day-to-day, helping you to communicate well with others, read and understand text and adapt your writing style to suit your audience.

This can help you with job applications, presentations or writing emails to customers. Or just keeping in touch with friends.

This online course provides you with the Functional Skills English Level 2 course content you need to get exam ready.

This course option also provides you with a specialist tutor who will guide you through your learning. You will receive two one-to-one tutorials focussed on your unique needs and additional learning in areas you find difficult. You will be given your tutor's email address for specific queries.

Finally, you will be provided with a marked mock exam with feedback.

Upon gaining your Functional Skills Level 2 in English, you'll get a qualification that is the equivalent to a grade C or above at GCSE. This means that you are able to demonstrate your ability to use English at this level.
