Studying your GCSE

GCSE English Language helps you to develop and enhance your skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

English language is the more scientific side of English. It focuses on nature of English and explores language in segments such as syntax, morphology and phonology. This differs from Literature which concerns itself with thematic content.

The course will help you understand how writers’ viewpoints and perspectives on issues or themes feature in their works. These can be surrounding the way we think or the way we live our lives.

Incorporating narrative and descriptive techniques you till take what you have learned and blend it with your own creative writing.

GCSE English Language allows you to progress onto further and higher education courses including A Level English and humanities subjects.

Our GCSE English course was written by subject specialists who specialise in Further and Adult Education.

This means the material is tailored to you, instead of talking down to you.
