About Your Diploma
Midwives provide a crucial service to expectant mothers as they are the first point of call for professional advice and support. To become a qualified Midwife, you will need to gain relevant qualifications and the knowledge and skills involved in performing this essential role.
If you are keen to embark on this career path but are not in a position to study the full course at this time, we have an option that will alleviate any pressure.
Rather than study our Access to Higher Education Diploma (Midwifery) in its entirety, you can split it over two stages, starting with Part 1. This gives you the freedom to study in your own time and progress on to Part 2 when you feel ready to do so.
By enrolling on our Access to Higher Education Diploma (Midwifery) – Part 1, you can spread 50% of the cost of the course over an extended timeframe. This will ease any financial pressure and give you an opportunity to take full control over your learning journey.
The full course has to be completed within two years, but by spreading it across two stages, you have two years to complete Part 1 and another two years to complete Part 2. Plus, if you complete Part 1 earlier than the two-year timeframe, you will get a discount on Part 2!
During the first stage of your studies, you will learn a mixture of academic content, such as human reproduction and the responsibilities of a Midwife, as well as study skills that will get you prepared for university.
Essentially, an Access to Higher Education Diploma is designed for learners who want to go to university but do not have the qualifications to do so. Rather than study A Levels, learners can gain an Access to HE Diploma that is the equivalent of 3 A Levels.
With this Level 3 qualification, learners can apply to most universities, but please check their entry requirements beforehand. Also, keep in mind that once you complete Part 1, you must complete Part 2 to gain your full qualification.
Getting Started
Not only will you get the benefit of studying our Access to Higher Education Diploma (Midwifery) over the course of two stages, but you will also be able to carry out all your studies online. This is because the course is delivered through our online platform.
This platform is ideal for individuals who need to study around existing commitments such as full-time work or childcare. You will be issued with an Individual Learning Plan that outlines the submission deadlines for your assignments.
To help you through Part 1 of the course, you will have access to experienced tutors and our support team. After completing this portion, you will be eligible to enrol on Part 2, but there is no pressure on you to enrol immediately.
As mentioned, you have two years to complete Part 1, but if you want to get your qualification sooner, you can complete it in 6 months or fewer, it’s up to you! Remember, if you complete Part 1 in less than two years, you’ll get a discount on Part 2.
