Written by Andy Martin
dream analysis

Dream analysis sounds interesting. Have you ever wondered what is the meaning of a dream? Or even how to know what your dreams mean?

Well if the answer to these questions are two big, fat yeses, then you’ll thoroughly enjoy our dream analysis course.

There’s always been a huge air of mystery about dreams and trying to understand their meanings makes it even more confusing. However, the discussion of dreams continues to be a hugely fascinating topic of discussion. Believe it or not, dreams provide a pathway to gaining a better understanding of yourself as a person and your life.

“Dreams are not without meaning wherever they may come from – from fantasy, from the elements or from inspiration.” – Paracelsus

What is a dream?

Dreams are the series of thoughts, emotions, ideas, images, situations and sensations that occur in a person’s mind whilst they are sleeping. Our brains remain constantly active. Different states of consciousness cause different brainwave activity.

Dreams are often influenced by different factors in our lives. Many things can be gained from our dreams, including better mental and physical health.

“The interpretation of dreams is the royal road to a knowledge of the unconscious activities of the mind.” – Sigmund Freud

Our course aims to introduce and discuss the modern day concept of dreams. It also deals with the interpretation of dreams and the language of the unconscious. The course we offer here at Stonebridge is perfect for anyone aspiring to become a psychic counsellor.

A psychic counsellor is more than just crystal balls, cards and caravans. They help their clients gain a deeper understanding of their innermost feelings and thoughts and get down to the root of things that trouble them. They’ve recently become highly sought-after and are usually based in clinics within hotels and luxury spas. One of their more alternative therapy treatments does include dream analysis.

“Dreams are the touchstones of our character.” – Henry David Thoreau

The purpose of dream analysis is not to understand the dream, but understand the dreamer and what their dreams say about them and their lives.

Counsellors use various techniques and ideas in order to analyse dreams and what they mean, such as looking at signs and symbols, objects and figures, setting, interactions between the dreamer and the characters in the dream.

“A dream is a work of art which requires of the dreamer no particular talent, special training, or technical competence. Dreaming is a creative enterprise in which all may and most do participate.” – Clark S. Hall

Thanks to the like of psychoanalysts like Sigmund Freud and authors such as Ann Faraday, dream analysis sees a huge rise in popularity. More and more people will be interested in the meaning of their dreams.
