Access to Higher Education Diploma (Education)

A career in education promises to be challenging, varied and fulfilling. There are a number of opportunities in the field and, since passionate and qualified teachers are always in high demand, you will never struggle to find a job.

If you dream of becoming a teacher, or you simply have a general interest in education, an Access to HE Diploma in Education could be the path for you. Our Access to HE Diplomas in Education are provided by Dimensions Training Solutions and the expertly designed courses will provide you with the necessary skills to kick-start your profession in the education sector.

Many people believe that studying education means working as a teacher. However, in reality, over half of people who work in the field hold alternative roles. If you wanted to, you could find a job in administration, research, training, care or even the charity sector. Experience and knowledge of education can also help people with jobs in management, the media and non-profit sectors.

Those who hold a degree in education prove that they have great theoretical, practical and organisational abilities. Given that the education sector is a consistently significant part of modern society, talented individuals like these are needed to guarantee that standards remain high. During any of our education pathways, you will discover how to deliver quality education as well as learning how to critically evaluate the aims and values associated with schooling.

The 5 Access to Higher Education Diploma (Education) pathways we offer are:

  1. The General Pathway – This is a general diploma which comprises education theory, childhood studies, education practice and biological science.
  2. The Teaching English Pathway – This pathway is aimed more towards individuals with an interest in an English teaching career or an undergraduate course with English literature and language units.
  3. The Teaching Science Pathway – This route focuses on a balance of scientific units. During the course you'll develop the academic skills, knowledge and understanding you need to progress to university.
  4. The Early Years Pathway – This is a diploma that focuses predominantly on early childhood studies. The course offers units which cover play, child protection and child development.
  5. The Teaching and Learning Pathway – Compared to our general pathway this diploma is more focused on the theoretical side of education and teaching.
