Top 5 Jobs You Can Get with A Social Science-Related Degree

Written by Fiona
5 social science careers

If you’re considering your degree options but aren’t sure which avenue to pursue, you may be feeling lost, confused and under pressure to make a decision. Deciding now what you want to do for the rest of your life isn’t a choice that should be taken lightly.

Though, if you haven’t had much experience in the areas of work you think you might enjoy, it’s hard to know what the reality will be. If only there was a degree that qualified you for an exciting range of careers, so you could study now and find your feet, then choose your career path later on.

Well, you’re in luck. No matter if you’re fascinated by criminals, how people’s minds work, the way the world is run by politics, or how society acts as a whole, a social science degree can qualify you to work in any role associated with human behaviour.

What is Social Science?

In a nutshell, social science studies society, the way people behave and how they influence our world. It looks at everything involved in the human experience, from the way people behave in our culture to what urges people to vote, the reasons for employment and economic growth.

By studying human behaviour and its impact in detail, we can make more sense of the goings-on in the world and shape it to better suit our needs.

If you’re reading this thinking, ‘well that’s incredibly broad’, that’s the idea. Social science graduates have an edge over graduates in more specific specialisms, as they are studying such a vast yet important area that is constantly evolving and is often highly contentious.

By studying a social science degree, you will understand how to work with both quantitative and qualitative data, think on your feet, weigh up new evidence as it emerges and adapt to situations as they quickly shift and evolve. These skills are desirable in most careers.

To study a social science degree, you need to meet social science degree requirements. This is something Stonebridge Associated Colleges can help you achieve. We have social science Access courses in a host of social science subjects. All of which will give you the equivalent of three A Levels.
