Studying your GCSE

Physics is the study of matter, its motion and its behaviour through space and time.

It is the most fundamental of science disciplines and its main goal is to understand how the universe behaves.

Studying Physics – either on its own or alongside the other core sciences – will help you to understand how everything in the world is ultimately connected. Studying at level 2 in Physics will allow you to go on to study the subject at A-level (or equivalent) and beyond.

During your studies you will explore waves, the particle model of matter, atomic structure, forces and how they are all linked.

You will also get the opportunity to study space physics and what recent discoveries mean for our understanding of the universe.

By the time you have completed your course, you will have a comprehensive understanding of Physics including key theories and principals. This will enable you to develop your knowledge further through the study of an A-level or an Access to HE Diploma.
