Getting Started

Stonebridge Associated Colleges is one of the UK’s leading online learning providers. Online learning allows you to get back into education without affecting your current schedule.

You can learn whenever suits you best as you won’t have classes to attend. Simply login and begin learning at a pace that suits you.

You’re in control of your learning so you can dictate how fast you go through the material. You have a maximum of two years to complete the course or you could blitz through it in as little as 6 months. It’s completely up to you. The only specific deadline to work towards is your exam – exam sittings are held once per year in May or June.

However just because distance education is a more independent learning style doesn’t mean you’re alone. You’ll be provided with an expert tutor to guide you through your learning. They’ll offer constructive feedback and assistance when needed.

As you progress through your course, you will study the following modules:

  • Introduction to Business & Economics
  • Economic methodology and the economic problem
  • Individual economic decision making
  • Price determination in a competitive market
  • Production, costs and revenue
  • Perfect competition, imperfectly competitive markets and monopoly
  • The labour market
  • The distribution of income and wealth: poverty and inequality
  • The market mechanism, market failure and government intervention in markets
  • The measurement of macroeconomic performance
  • How the macroeconomy works: the circular flow of income, AD/AS analysis, and related concepts
  • Economic performance
  • Financial markets and monetary policy

At the end of each unit there is an assignment to complete. Once this has been completed and submitted to your tutor he or she will respond with your grade as well as detailed feedback. Following successful completion of each unit you’ll be exam ready!
