About your Course

This course is designed as an introductory course to aquatic treadmill therapy for anyone who’s qualified in Level 3 certificate Hydrotherapy for Small Animals.

This course covers how to safely operate an aquatic treadmill and which animals are suitable for this form of treatment.

You will also learn how to develop aquatic treadmill therapy sessions for your patients using different water levels and speeds of the treadmill belt. You will study projected benefits whilst also being aware of any detrimental effects.

This course includes a practical day within our busy rehabilitation centres alongside our experienced qualified hydrotherapists and physiotherapists. This will give you the opportunity to use the aquatic treadmill on a variety of patients.

The centres offer state of the art equipment including gait analysis and underwater treadmills and hydrotherapy pools.

You will be required to get in and out of the aquatic treadmill. Therefore, should you require any support in doing so, ensure this is in place and the centre is aware.

Once you have completed the course you’ll be qualified to carry out basic aquatic treadmill therapy for small animals. In addition to this, you are now eligible to study the advanced aquatic treadmill course. This course will develop your understanding further and expand on the treatments you’re able to offer.
