This level 3 award in canine care, behaviour and welfare teaches you how to properly care for canines in a professional care or boarding setting.
From body language and stress signals to common behavioural issues, you’ll know the indicators that could lead to aggression or unwanted behaviour. Allowing you to effectively avoid and prevent challenging situations, which is essential for working within a kennel, dog day care or home boarding setting.
You’ll have the knowledge needed to effectively look after the dogs in your care. Ensuring they stay fit and healthy by properly managing their diets and preventing the spread of infection or disease. By learning to recognise the signs of distress, you’ll also know what steps to take to maintain the animal’s emotional welfare.
Throughout the course, you’ll be taught how to properly support animals when coming in and out of the kennel setting. So that you can settle them quickly and put them at ease. Minimising any stress caused and reducing the likelihood of animals causing harm to themselves or others.
Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll have the necessary skills to start a new career in canine care and management. As well as an ideal foundation to develop your knowledge through further studies.
