About your Course

Working with children in an early years setting gives you the opportunity to help them grow and develop at a crucial stage of their early lives. You will play a part in helping them form their first friendships, develop social skills, and prepare them for school.

To appropriately support the children in your care you need to understand the developmental stages children go through from infant to school going age.

This course will provide you with the foundation knowledge you will need to do just that. Including how to promote equality and inclusion within an early years setting.

You will learn about the expected patterns of development and what factors can influence them. How to support children in their development, build a development plan and effective ways to promote positive behaviour will also be covered.

The course also covers key child legislation, safeguarding and health and safety so you will know to create a safe and compliant learning environment.

Additionally the course will touch on the benefits of multi-agency working and how to support positive outcomes for the children in your care.

The aim of this course is to promote best practice and ensure that the learner completes it with the skills and knowledge required to be able to work competently and professionally with children and young people.
