Unit 1: Companion animal transportation

On completion of this unit you will: 
  • Understand how to reduce stress during companion animal transportation.
  • Understand the procedures for humane restraint and handling during companion animal transportation.
  • Understand the responsibilities involved with transporting companion animals.
  • Know appropriate handling methods for companion animals in fear, pain and distress.
  • Know appropriate transport methods for animals in fear, pain and distress.
Unit 2: Requirements of animals during transport
On completion of this unit you will: 
  • Understand the responsibilities of the driver when transporting companion animals on long and short journeys.
  • Understand the needs of animals during transportation.
  • Know the legal requirements of transporting animals

To gain the Level 3 Award in Companion Animal Transportation you must achieve X credits. 

Each unit will be assessed by a range of in-depth theory assessments. Students will need to show sufficient evidence that they have the required knowledge, skills and understanding of the assessment criteria.  

When are you assessed?

Once you have successfully completed each unit assessment you will receive your certificate of completion alongside your qualification.
