Using Theories In Social Care

About the Using Theories in Social Care Diploma

Social work and community care are both practical professions. Most roles will involve heading out and working together with service users and trying to implement positive change in these people’s lives. However, in order to succeed with the practical challenges, social workers must have an understanding of social care theories.

This distance learning course has been designed especially to educate students about the theories used in social care. The 12 engaging online modules cover a number of topics, ranging from anti-discriminatory theories in social work practice to cognitive, behavioural and psychodynamic approaches.

Who should study this course?

This course has been designed for individuals who want to deepen their understanding of human behaviour. The qualification will come in useful for those already working in care giving roles or those who desire to secure these jobs in the future.

You do not need any previous social care experience or any prior qualifications to apply. All you need to enrol on a home learning course at Stonebridge College is access to a computer and the internet, and the motivation to work in your own time.

What happens after the course?

If you want to use your new found knowledge to become a fully qualified social worker, then you will first need to obtain a HCPC accredited degree. If you do not already meet university entry requirements, you may consider completing an Access to HE diploma with us.
