Advantages of Home Study Courses

Written by Andy Martin

Normally it is very hard to start anything which you don’t know the outcome of. And fear is the greatest enemy in the world.

I joined a Home Study Course some months ago. Here are the advantages I am enjoying now:

  1. I am glad I have a Tutor who has posted to me a booklet which instructs me how to study, for how long, how to answer the questions asked in different ways and many more, thus makes me enjoy the reading.
  2. The course gives me relaxation, and plenty of time to learn as there is no time limit, I take my time though I am very busy in my office but I make sure I get time to study and accomplish my lessons accordingly.
  3.  For further reading I get almost everything online (internet) any time I want. I can complete my course lesson at the time which is convenient to me, because I read to understand repeatedly no hurry.
  4. When I need help I just contact my tutor or the administrator and everybody is ready to help; there are students who feel shy to ask questions in class but for home study you are free to ask anything nobody will laugh at you.
  5. Online courses – The Fee is affordable this is the most important thing which can make anyone study several courses. I really appreciate this, no matter how little your income is you can pay by installment.
  6. Online or home study courses makes me share knowledge with my family and discuss, they become interested to know what I am learning, this gives me a wonderful time, also makes me study hard to pass my exams.
  7. Home study courses do not give worries of being late to the class in order to attend on time, the class is with you either in your bag or on the table. No fare for the bus or fuel for your car to go to the college; it is just a computer and payment to the internet.
  8. Home study  is a challenge as it makes me teach myself on how to study hard, no one is there to push me, it is my responsibility to look for different information regarding the topics I am learning and this makes my brain mature automatically.
  9. Home study can follow you wherever you are either by post or internet.
  10. Home study you can also go back and repeat the lessons you are having problem with. Most students find tutors go quickly in class through some bits thus they don’t catch up accordingly.
  11. In Home study course I can get friends from many countries in the world as we communicate on line.
  12. After finishing and passing the exams I will get the certificate which is recognized all over the world.
  13. The certificate which I get will enable me to apply for a job anywhere.

Home Study is great when you need to fit it around other things such as a full time job, and it’s cheaper than studying at a college or university in person. But, it is worth remembering that you need to have the motivation to do it. I have found it hard at times to make myself sit down and do the work after a long shift in the shop and all the other stresses of life. Then again, not having any time limits on the course alleviates this issue somewhat as if I don’t want to do work I don;’t have to!

Plus home study shows a tenacious quality; you show prospective employers that you can time manage, multi-task plus have the drive to better yourself whatever you circumstances. You have the ability to prove other skills thus increasing desirability.

I highly advocate Home earning as when my daughter was away at college it gave me something to do! The classes were challenging and relevant. The best thing is that I could take my time and really digest and study the chapters before doing the worksheets. A tutor was always near by and my worksheets came back graded within a few days. I am older and sometimes it takes me a little more time to do digest information. Loved it!!

I am 56 years old and a beauty therapist, I have thought about doing counselling courses but have found them so expensive. Would the stonebridge introduction to counselling be a good place to start.

I really enjoy home studying because I can fit it around my busy lifestyle (job, animal care, travelling to and from places etc) . it’s also a lot cheaper than college or Uni, and I can show prospective employers that I can time manage and am self motivated 🙂

it is brilliant you can study at your own pace, you have a tudor to talk to about your course and upload your work and they mark it straight away, what more could you ask for.. 10/10 home study college.

It is perfect for me, the distance learning. I love to study but doing the whole classroom thing just wasn’t for me, and with the cost of Uni ect. it was definitely the better idea. I love that we have a tutor and all the learning resources are so easy to read.
