Studying your A Level

Business Studies is studied all over the world, teaching countless students the core principles of operating a business. The subject focuses on finance, human resources, marketing and other business operations which are all key aspects of the business world.

A Level Business Studies asks students to consider concepts surrounding the interrelated nature of business and its impact.

You will be challenged to consider the importance of context in relation to decision making in relation to the competitive market. Also, what circumstances determine the success of those decisions and how to measure that success.

This A Level course you will also help you understand the influences on strategic decisions and plans. These can include ethical and environmental issues, stakeholders, functional issues and practical limitations.

A Level Business Studies will allow you to continue your studies further, either through studying a Business related degree at university or by applying your knowledge to other Business related courses.

Getting Started

Stonebridge Associated Colleges is a leading providers of distance learning courses. Unlike most providers, all our courses are completely online.

That means as soon as you enrol you will have access the course materials and assignments. This gives you complete freedom in terms of how and when you study.

You can complete your learning and assignments at your own pace. Moreover, you can fit your distance learning around you homelife and work commitments. Taking some of the stress out of the process. The only specific deadline to work towards is your exam – exam sittings are held once per year in May or June.

You will have a qualified tutor assigned to you during your studies. They will be on hand to offer advice and guidance throughout your A Level. They will also be marking your assignments. Each one will come back with clear feedback so you will know what you can improve upon.

As you progress through your course, you will study the following modules:

  • Introduction to Business & Economics
  • What is business?
  • Managers, leadership and decision making
  • Decision making to improve marketing performance
  • Decision making to improve operational performance
  • Decision making to improve financial performance
  • Decision making to improve human resource performance
  • Analysing the strategic position of a business
  • Choosing strategic direction
  • Strategic methods: how to pursue strategies
  • Managing strategic change

At the end of each unit there is an assignment to complete. Once this has been completed and submitted to your tutor he or she will respond with your grade as well as detailed feedback. Following successful completion of each unit you’ll be exam ready!
